Andre Williams is the hard-working point guard of the Bridgeton Bulldogs. When he plays well, Bridgeton wins. It's as simple as that.

Bridgeton plays in a tough division. St. Augustine, Pleasantville and Holy Spirit share the Cape-Atlantic League National Division I with the Bulldogs, and that's some formidable competition.

If the Bulldogs are to improve on their 5-6 record and make a run for the post-season, Andre Williams will be the floor general who takes them there.

"If we come to practice everyday and work hard, we can make it to the playoffs," said Williams after a hard-fought Bulldog loss to Millville. "We just have to give a whole lot of hustle and work harder in practice in order to come out with the big wins."

Akeen Johnson (16.3 ppg) has been a factor for Bridgeton, and Jamar Cupe and Edward Fentrass have also been workhorses by providing offense, rebounding and defensive intensity.

"Coach (Charlie) Kates makes sure that we're disciplined. If we're not disciplined and if we can't listen then we're not focused. He gets on us everyday in practice to hustle. We have to do the right things to make everything good on the court. That's when we play well and win," said Williams.

In a tough division like the one they're in, Bridgeton will have to be entirely focused for the rest of the season. The post-season won't come easy, but Williams and the Bulldogs will be working hard to get there.
