Thomas Baker has game. Not a little
game. A lot of game. He's led the Millville Thunderbolts to a fast 8-2
start, including an impressive win over Shawnee, and that has South
Jersey buzzing.
The 6'3" Baker is a multi-talented
junior guard with a lot of weapons in his arsenal. He can beat you with
the deep ball or he can beat you in the paint. He can beat you running
the point guard position or he can beat you at the off guard. Silky-smooth
and calm under fire, Baker and the Millville Thunderbolts will be heard
from this year.
"We're playing well as a team",
smiled Baker. "Everybody is stepping up whether I'm on the court
or not, and that's important. Our center Azim Smith
George Bunton,
Wesley Jordan
the whole team is just playing well."
Baker, who is averaging just over 22
points per game, is quick to point out that Millville coach Anthony
Farinelli is a strict disciplinarian who keeps the team playing together.
Whatever the coach asks for, Baker tries to provide.
"If coach says he needs me to run
the point, I'll run the point. If coach says he needs me to score, I'll
score. Anything he wants me to do to help the team win is fine with
me."
Look for Millville to make a lot of
noise this year. They're a potent team with size and speed, and Thomas
Baker is definitely legit.
